Now you can harness incredible power in one high performance, continuously available, highly reliable, and massively scalable storage system. The Sun StorEdge 9960 systems are specifically tailored to the demands of the high-end data center, where heterogeneity, storage consolidation, and availability levels approaching Six Sigma are required. The systems combine revolutionary switched-fabric architecture with sophisticated RAS features to provide truly nondisruptive performance and availability for your mission-critical data services. They are an excellent platform for storage consolidation, direct attach mainframe connectivity, and storage area network (SAN) applications. And they include proactive maintenance service with "call-home" capability, and are supported by global mission-critical support centers. The Sun StorEdge 9960 systems deliver the high levels of uptime and performance your business requires, offering complete storage solutions for data center environments. Sun StorEdge Complete Storage Solutions - providing you with comprehensive hardware, software, and services to solve your business challenges enterprise wide. The Sun StorEdge 9960 system allows massive storage expansion for the largest enterprise applications and large-scale consolidation. It is a scalable storage system with a base configuration consisting of two frames. The Control Frame contains the cache and switch modules, host and drive interfaces, disk array processors, and the service processor. The Array Frame contains up to 96 disk drives and redundant power supplies. Additional Array Frames allow the Sun StorEdge 9960 system to expand to 512 drives, providing up to 92.7 TB of raw storage. The number of physical interfaces can be scaled to 32 separate Fiber Channel, ESCON, and FICON host connections, and by using SAN switches, as many as 4096 hosts can be accommodated.
