Scaling up to 12 UltraSPARC IV processors with chip multithreading technology executing 24 simultaneous computing threads, this high-performance, rack-optimized server is ideal for a wide range of compute-intensive applications. The SunFire E2900 server protects investments with the ability to mix and manage UltraSPARC IV and UltraSPARC III processors - running at their rated speeds - in the same system, and offers advanced features such as Dynamic Reconfiguration for hot swapping processor/memory boards while applications are up and running, for higher availability.
