Layer 3 Premium Activation feature for the IBM Ethernet Switch provides an upgrade for full Layer 3 multi-protocol routing functionality, including support for RIPv1, RIPv2, OSPFv2, BGP-4, IS-IS, IGMPv1, IGMPv2, IGMPv3, PIM-DM, PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, MSDP, and Anycast RP. The base features on Management Modules without this upgrades support Full Layer 2 and Base Layer 3 (switching).
