The NAS 100 should be especially attractive to this customer set due to its price point and its allowing for centralized management of a distributed network of storage resources where IT skills are limited.The NAS 100 Model R12 provides a complete, entry-level NAS storage solution for your network. The NAS 100 offers many outstanding features such as 480GB hot-swap HDD storage capacity, preloaded operating system and application code, attachment to the Ethernet LAN via built-in Gigabit Ethernet ports, auto-ranging auto-sensing power supply, and systems management support that enables centralized, remote management of the NAS 100 for lower cost of ownership.The NAS 100 comes preloaded with an operating system and application code that has been tuned for the NAS function. The NAS 100 includes support for the major industry-standard file access protocols such as CIFS, NFS, Netware, Apple File Protocol, HTTP, and FTP. Application code on the NAS 100 also includes backup/restore support, and software support of RAID levels 0, 1, 5. System management is provided by IBM Director/Universal Manageability Services.As part of the preloaded code, the NAS 100 contains a web-based setup and configuration Graphical User Interface (GUI) that helps to speed up system setup and configuration in your network.
