The second controller upgrade provides redundancy for a single controller version of the IBM TotalStorage DS300 (1701-1RS). It can help maintain access to the disks in event of a controller failure. This controller upgrade features 256MB of battery-backed data cache and dual 1GB iSCSI ports for host connectivity with a dedicated 1GB Ethernet port for management. Active/Active implementation with the primary controller provides added performance.
