The HP StorageWorks NAS 500s offers an entry-level, tower form factor, Networked Attached Storage (NAS) solution that delivers quick-to-install, simple-to-manage networked storage with multi-protocol file sharing and MS Exchange data repository for small or branch office locations. The Windows Storage Server 2003 NAS operating system is pre-installed and optimized for the NAS 500s and includes HP-specific management tools. The hardware is also pre-configured and optimized allowing the NAS 500s to be up and running in minutes. The NAS 500s includes hardware RAID for greater performance and availability.In a small or branch office, the NAS 500s can serve as the file storage device hosting local user files and MS Exchange database and log files. With optional host-based data replication and failover capabilities using HP OpenView Storage Mirroring, data can be exchanged with a main office to support business continuity needs.The NAS 500s offers customers quick restore functionality via DVD and a dual-OS partition. In the event the NAS 500s needs to be restored, a Quick Restore DVD allows you to be up and running with a factory default image in minutes not hours.
