PERC 5/i is a PCI Express based Serial Attached SCSI RAID controller that provides enterprise class protection and performance for your Dell Precision workstation. With support for RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, and 50 PERC 5/i provides multiple protection options to suit a wide range of applications and non-critical data. It uses 3Gbps SAS technology, which can deliver nearly four times the bandwidth of 320MBps SCSI. PERC 5/i SAS connectors contain four SAS ports each for a total bandwidth of up to 12Gbps, or 1200MBps per connector. It also includes a powerful Intel IOP333 processor with XScale Microarchitecture, 256MB of DDR2 memory for read and write cache.
