The platform offers the lowest cost per bit and the flexibility to handle a wide variety of metropolitan (metro) networks, traffic mixes, traffic patterns, and protection requirements.The Cisco ONS 15252 Optical Network System provides scalable and incremental bandwidth expansion. The Cisco ONS 15252 platform client layer interface port (CLIP) cards support line rate connectivity of different protocols ranging from 100 Mbps to 2.5 Gbps. The Cisco ONS 15252 platform is expandable on a single-wavelength basis, with minimal footprint and minimal power consumption (8W/channel).
