Cisco Media Convergence Server 7820 - voice/video/data server
Cisco Media Convergence Server 7820 - Voice/video/data server - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet - rack-mountable
The Cisco Media Convergence Server 7820 (MCS-7820) is a low-cost server platform for the Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data) network. The Cisco MCS-7820 is a member of the MCS-7800 series server family, which also includes the high-availability MCS-7830 and the Cisco AVVID IP telephony starter kits. The Cisco MCS-7820 is intended to be a pilot-test platform as a standalone server, or a production-level server when two MCS-7820s are deployed in a primary/backup role1. The MCS-7820 comes with Cisco CallManager software preinstalled to make the deployment of IP telephony simple and cost-effective.The Cisco MCS-7820 includes Intel's next-generation Pentium III, delivers 500-MHz performance, and ships with 128 MB of Error-Correcting Code (ECC) RAM, high-speed IDE CD-ROM drive, keyboard and mouse extending the high performance you will require to roll out IP telephony applications. Two MCS-7820s operating in a "primary" and "secondary" mode will provide a robust fail-over mechanism so customers can run in a production environment. As part of its configuration, each IP telephone will store the IP address of the primary and secondary server so that if the primary server fails the phone will get instructions from the secondary server. The availability of many servers is compromised because of software conflicts that result when many applications are installed on a single server. Since there are no customer-provided third-party software applications approved to run coresident on the MCS-7820, a higher lever of availability is achieved. The Cisco Media Convergence Server 7820 IP Telephony Starter Kit #1 includes Cisco MCS-7820 IP telephony server with Cisco CallManager software, five Cisco IP telephone 12SP+, five IP phone power supplies (country specific), five user licenses.
