This is a spare air filter. Have spares on hand in case the filter tears or becomes worn, or if you have to remove and wash it. Never place a wet filter in the chassis; the moisture drawn into the chassis can damage the equipment. A dirty filter could restrict the flow of cooling air into the chassis and could cause an overtemperature condition.
