The Cisco Content Router 4430 (CR4430-B) is a DNS-based global load balancer designed to load-balance up to 20 sites on the Internet so that it quickly and accurately routes a user's connection to the best site based on network delay. Ideally suited for a Cisco Internet Content-Delivery Network (ICDN) with 2 to 20 sites on the Internet and mirrored content. Site selection based on network delay and content location requires at least one CR4400 near the origin Web server and a hardware device that includes the CRA at each of the mirrored sites. The Content Routing Agent (CRA) can reside on a content switch such as Cisco CSS 11000, on a content-delivery node such as the Content Engine 500 series, or a on a dedicated platform such as a Cisco 2600 router.
