Cisco 3640 - Router - Cisco IOS 11.1 - rack-mountable

The Cisco 3600 series is designed to accommodate the growing numbers of dialup branch and remote office users who need dial access to corporate intranets and the public Internet. The Cisco 3600 series of access dialup servers offers an unprecedented degree of support flexibility for dialup applications across both ISDN and asynchronous media. The Cisco 3600 series also supports synchronous serial communication and is fully supported by the Cisco IOS software. The Cisco 3600 series routers offer support for today's most widely used network protocols, including IP, Novell IPX, AppleTalk, DECnet, and a wide range of routing protocols. The Cisco 3600 series offers more features than any other vendor's routers to keep WAN service costs down. Data compression and multiple traffic prioritization techniques ensure that mission-critical data is accommodated, while features such as protocol spoofing, snapshot routing, BOD, and DDR guarantee that the cost of usage-based services such as ISDN is minimized. IGMP, RSVP, PIM, WFQ, SMRP, and Inter-Switch Link (ISL) enable the Cisco 3600 series' support of audio and video service applications as well as virtual LANs. Competitive solutions offer few of these features. User authentication and extended access lists allow only approved traffic onto the network. Event logging and audit trails, encryption, and virtual private network tunneling provide increased network security. TACACS+ and RADIUS are also supported. No other vendor solution offers this range of security features.
