Cisco introduces the Dual-Port single wide Fast Ethernet Port Adapter (PA-2FE-TX, PA-2FE-FX) for Cisco 7200 and 7500 Series Routers. The PA-2FE provides the highest packet throughput available from Cisco 7x00 Fast Ethernet interfaces, and is the preferred choice for Fast Ethernet connectivity for Cisco 7x00 Routers. The PA-2FE is ideal for campus/enterprise backbones, data centers, high-performance routing between multiple Ethernet VLANs, and other deployments requiring line-rate Fast Ethernet connectivity.The PA-2FE-TX and PA-2FE-FX port adapters support either 10- or 100-Mbps configurations and auto-negotiation, which enables auto-selection of the appropriate network speed and duplex mode, providing additional flexibility in deployment options. The PA-2FE may be used in an open port-adapter slot on Cisco 7200 Series Routers or in an open bay within Cisco second- and fourth-generation Versatile Interface Processors (VIP2 and VIP4) on Cisco 7500 Routers. Portability between these systems simplifies ordering and minimizes overall support and sparing costs.
