The modem cards support the Rockwell/Lucent K56flex technology for up to 56-kbps performance (the actual connection speed depends on line conditions).Microcom modems are designed with Flash downloadable memory, so software upgrades and enhancements can be easily installed. Flash memory allows a central site manager to update modems at unmanned sites without having to return the chassis to a central site or make time-consuming field support calls. This scenario allows the modems to be remotely upgraded to ITU V.90.
